Seriously, it’s right over there!

I’m not kidding, there’s free food, right over there.
On Wednesday a local sandwich shop brought a box of sandwiches because, “we love what you do and want to be part of it.” Wanting this food to get into the bellies of our students, one of our student leaders walked the plaza, inviting others into the goodness of the generosity of free food with no catch. Her enthusiasm excited me, even after two hours of slinging pizza slices, I got into this late-game fervor.
Enthusiastic sharing is a powerful form of connection, where one person’s excitement about a topic, idea, or experience spills over and invites another to participate in their joy. It often begins with a spark — a favorite book, a recent discovery, or a heartfelt story — that someone feels compelled to pass along. This kind of sharing isn’t just about information; it’s charged with energy and emotion. The person sharing isn’t just conveying facts — they’re offering a piece of their own curiosity, passion, or wonder. In doing so, they create a moment of genuine human exchange that can be surprisingly contagious.
For the receiver, being on the other end of enthusiastic sharing can be equally impactful. It’s more than simply listening — it’s being drawn into a world someone else cares deeply about. Even if the subject is unfamiliar, the enthusiasm itself becomes the point of connection. It can lead to laughter, new interests, or deeper understanding between people. Enthusiastic sharing invites openness — the kind that says, “This matters to me, and I think you’ll enjoy it too.” And whether or not the feeling is mutual, the gesture itself builds trust, appreciation, and often, a lasting bond.
