Broadening our community engagement at SDSU is an important part of building a ministry that is visible, accessible, and connected to the wider campus community. By stepping beyond traditional ministry spaces and engaging students through creative, public expressions of faith, we create opportunities for people to encounter a message of hope and belonging in unexpected places. Spray-painted murals featuring the words LOVE and PEACE offer a simple yet powerful way to make our presence known at SDSU. They invite curiosity, conversation, and reflection while communicating values that resonate across differences and create an opening for deeper relationships.

Not to mention, they're undeniably post-worthy!

Creating these murals also embodies our mission to be creative, welcoming, and affirming disciples of Jesus. Art allows us to express the Gospel in a language that is immediate, accessible, and joyful, while the messages of LOVE and PEACE point directly toward the heart of Jesus’ ministry. By bringing beauty, hope, and positive energy into shared campus spaces, we demonstrate that faith is not something we keep within the walls of a church—it is something we live out in community. This kind of engagement helps us become a visible, welcoming presence at SDSU and invites students to see themselves as valued, affirmed, and part of a community committed to love, peace, justice, and belonging.
