My last building update said “this has been a marathon, not a sprint.” Since then more progress! Our design has full city approvals, so we are ready for our builder to ‘pull the permit’ as soon as we close the construction financing, which has been a moving target through changing market conditions. We also refined our operations plan, received another big level of support from Pacifica Synod, and updated our package for prospective lenders. It is heartening to at least continue to progress through this epic journey with consistent affirmation from students and even university officials.

We are hanging together in good faith that God who gave us the vision to do this will continue to provide everything needed to realize it. To be frank, I am not always patient with God’s timing, but I am learning that when it seems delayed, I am invited to keep my ‘eyes peeled’ for opportunities that we might have missed to date. This is where you can help!

  • First and foremost, please pray for God to unveil the final stretch of project financing.

  • Ask us any questions on details or possible solutions to this challenge.

  • Discern whether you, since first hearing of this project, have capacity or expertise to share.

  • Help us reach this goal to serve eagerly waiting students, perhaps by giving or investing in it, we are now opening the option of bonds or notes that will offer a return on your investment.

Several of you have already responded by fulfilling or even increasing your pledges, including my own family. Thank you capital campaign contributors! If you were wondering about next steps, this is the final stage where we need to pull out all the stops so that we can break ground hopefully this fall!

We still need about $250,000 to reach our campaign goal, so if you have the means to help with a pledge of $5,000, $10,000, $20,000, or $50,000 as we have done, you will have a key role in forming faithful emerging leaders for generations to come. Agape’s 75-year legacy of campus ministry promises to endure and expand as we are able to offer more students a 24/7 experience of leadership to grow faith community. Thank you for sharing this mission of God’s Agape on campus! In faith and gratitude,

+Darin
