Assisting Campus Minister

Agape has loved Camp Stevens for decades. Since our inception, our community has refreshed at our diocesan camp near Julian, CA. Having both been founded in 1952, Camp’s core values of Openness, Gratitude, Connection, Wonder flow beautifully with ours: Mercy & Justice, Rooted in Faith, Radical Welcome, and Growth in Community. You can see how excited we get when an opportunity arises for collaboration and celebration. With our building project on the horizon, we saw an opportunity for many of the appliances, fixtures, and more to be reused in another setting to continue our mission.
Rather than adding to a landfill, the oven from our kitchen will serve two of many of the resident staff members at camp. The garden tools from our sheds have already been used in the multiple gardens at camp to continue their goal of serving locally sourced food in the dining hall. Rolls and rolls of craft paper will help retreat groups explore their faith. Tile and grout have already brightened a well-loved restroom in Blum Lodge. The list continues and we're especially giddy to enjoy the warm water of our former water heater on our upcoming retreat and many to come in the years to come.
We feel grateful for Camp Stevens and their ministry that continues to inspire, challenge, and empower personal, social, and environmental transformation.
