Affirming Partnerships

Participating in the life and ministry of Agape San Diego to the best of one’s ability is an important expression of our shared commitment to faith, community, and the well-being of our students. Whether through financial gifts, volunteering, prayer, or simply showing up with a willing heart, every contribution matters. The generosity of those who give to Agape San Diego helps sustain our ministry and expand our capacity to accompany students on their journeys of faith, discovery, and belonging. Our board members model this commitment through their volunteer service, offering their time, gifts, and leadership to support our shared mission. Every act of participation, no matter its size, strengthens the foundation upon which our ministry is built.

Just as important is our presence as reliable, caring neighbors in the communities where our students learn and grow. Our Tuesdays at UC San Diego, alongside the ministry of Good Samaritan Episcopal, and our Wednesdays at San Diego State University, alongside Faith Presbyterian, are opportunities to demonstrate that we are committed to showing up consistently, building relationships, and creating spaces where students are welcomed, affirmed, and loved. This faithful presence is essential and deeply affirming for Agape staff, but especially for our students, who are reminded through our actions that they are not alone and that they matter. We recognize that everyone’s capacity to participate is different, and we invite each person to contribute in ways that are meaningful and sustainable for them. Together, through generosity, service, and dependable presence, we embody Agape’s commitment to being a creative, welcoming, and affirming community of faith.

One student shared, "When others support us, I feel important," is all the affirmation that we need to continue.
