Recently, we returned to Camp Stevens for our annual spring retreat. This time away has become a welcomed and anticipated event for our students in a familiar place of rest, refreshment, challenge, and really good food. Retreats focused on spirituality provide college students with a peaceful environment to explore and deepen their faith. These retreats often include meditation, prayer, and reflection, allowing students to connect with their spiritual selves away from the distractions of campus life. By engaging in quiet contemplation and discussions with peers, students can gain new insights into their personal beliefs and purpose.
Dax, a Marine Geology major at UC San Diego, shared, “This was my first retreat with Agape, I was welcomed to a community with open minds and open hearts. It was nice to spend the weekend with people who speak with kindness and support, see the best in everything, and have a desire to create connections. I excitedly await next time!"
Our spiritual retreats also offer a sense of community, where students can share their journeys and support one another in their spiritual growth. For many, these retreats become a grounding experience that helps them navigate the stresses and challenges of college life with a renewed sense of clarity and peace.
