During a recent visit with the good people of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, I reconnected with a recent graduate of SDSU and a member of the broader Agape Family.  I learned so much about sitting and listening from Autumn and am grateful for those silences and the following conversations.  Seeing her thrive as a leader of St. Bart’s Sustainability Ministry reminded me that college graduates stand at a pivotal crossroads—not only in their personal journeys but in the broader global sustainability. With education rooted in innovation, critical thinking, and social responsibility, many graduates are stepping into the world deeply aware of environmental challenges and eager to be part of the solution. Whether entering careers in renewable energy, sustainable design, public policy, or education, they carry with them the tools and ideals to reshape industries and mindsets. Their fresh perspectives and digital fluency allow them to bridge gaps between tradition and transformation, making sustainability not just a concept, but a guiding principle in their work.

Yet beyond the weight of global responsibility lies a quieter, deeply personal triumph: the joy of moving into one’s calling. For many, graduation marks more than the end of formal education—it’s the beginning of a life aligned with purpose. The moment they step into roles that reflect their values and passions, especially as a valued member of a faith community, they experience a fulfillment that transcends titles or salaries. This joy—rooted in meaning, contribution, and authenticity—is what sustains them as they strive to sustain the world. In following their calling, graduates don't just chase careers; they become catalysts for hope, healing, and a more sustainable future.
