This continues to be a year of spreading God’s love on two university campuses in metro San Diego.

After a summer of dedicated work and welcome, we accepted the mantle as the protestant members of the Center for Ethics and Spirituality at UC San Diego and, thanks to the support of St. James and Good Samaritan, we’re excited for the next season of ministry.  Continuing our 73 year presence at San Diego State we deepened relationships with students, faculty, and staff and offered opportunities for conversation, rather than confrontation, during an emotional and tumultuous year.  Thanks to the support of our Lutheran siblings and St. Dunstan’s, the next school year looks bright for more from the “Nice People with Free Pizza.”  I continue to share these stories and more with congregations in the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego, our partners in Pacifica Synod of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America), and even Presbyterians too. God's love is boundless.

After a school year that included a general election, Friendsgiving, footwashing, Ashes to Go, Easter at the border, hundreds of slices of pizza, and so much more, Agape is known for kindness and welcome in a way that's desperately needed these days.

Breaks are important.  Rest is important. Summer is coming and I look forward to reflecting on the blessings and struggles of this year to better serve our mission field next year.  Providing opportunities for that rest is key to the hospitality in the gospel and continues to drive our mission with those we serve at San Diego State and UC San Diego.  Join us, won’t you, as we continue to deepen our connection with students on these campuses.
